Meet Your Team

At Harmonised Homes, our goal is to help you create a space that reflects the life you want to live.

We're here to support you in crafting a home that allows you to breathe deeply, think clearly, and live freely.

We've been in the business of being together, and working on projects, since February 2022 - and we have travelled a very long way in this short time: literally, individually, and as a couple.

We met around a fire, in a wood, on the side of an ancient Somerset Hill Fort, started talking, and realised that we had each found someone special: a person with whom it would be possible, harmonious and fun to solve life's problems.

Since meeting we have amalgamated our complex lives, gotten married, relocated a large family to South Africa, renovated a big property out there, and re-relocated back to the UK! During our time together we have been more or less constantly in each other's company, successfully facing challenges, both external and internal, and learning new things about ourselves, each other, and life, pretty much on a daily basis.

As you may imagine, we have had to let go of an awful lot of 'baggage' as we've gone along - like people chucking stuff out of an overloaded balloon in order to get airborne! As a result, we have become adept at noticing and discarding things that no longer serve us, or our families. We bring what we have learned, and are continuing to learn, about the art and craft of 'letting stuff go' to this business.

About Lalena

Hi, I’m Lalena Rose, and my journey has shown me the profound connection between the spaces we live in and the lives we lead. As a mother of five sons, a 15-year-old and 13-year-old quadruplets, I’ve honed my skills in creating calm functional spaces that support a busy household.

Having moved home and even countries numerous times, I’ve also experienced firsthand how decluttering and letting go can transform not just your physical environment, but your entire way of being. Each time I released what no longer served me, I found a renewed sense of lightness, clarity, and purpose—a powerful reminder of what truly matters.

Through this process, I’ve come to see that the things we hold onto often hold us back. Letting go creates space—not just for the new, but for a deeper alignment with who we are and how we want to show up in the world. It’s about creating room for new opportunities to blossom.

In addition to my love for decluttering, I bring years of experience in energy clearing. I’ve seen how the energy within a home can influence how peaceful and connected people feel in their space. Using holistic methods such as sage, sound bowls, and intention-setting, I help bring a sense of calm, harmony, and renewal to homes.

I am also deeply passionate about giving unwanted belongings a new lease on life while supporting a more sustainable approach to living. I believe in the beauty of restoring and recycling rather than relying on mass-produced goods. A beautiful home doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment—it can be a sanctuary of purpose and peace

About Miles

In my youth I would have regular clear outs in order to simplify my life, lighten the load, and make it easier to travel anywhere at the drop of a hat. I was proud, at one stage, to have just 3 bags: books, clothes, bedding. I could move house in less than 30 minutes! Then I got married, had children, grew up, and without even trying or meaning to, started to accumulate stuff like crazy.

The stuff kept on increasing -- breeding like they say coat hangers do when no one is watching -- and with each move there was more and more of it. Instead of doing something creative, meaningful, or fun, I would spend increasing amounts of my free time tidying and sorting, putting up shelves, and boarding out lofts. Now and again I managed to dump a few things, but it made little difference. Something was wrong. Somehow I was in service to my possessions. Instead of possessing them they had, in some strange way, come to possess me.

When my aunt died in 2017, I stepped in to help my uncle tidy up their chaotic London flat where nothing had been thrown away for 30 years. I worked like an archaeologist, burrowing carefully through layers, picking out the important stuff, and discarding the dross. It took 3 weeks of 10 hour days, and I can still remember the smile on my uncle's face when I showed him into his 'new' bedroom. He sat on the bed playing his guitar like a bird released.

At the end of 2021 my mother died, and in early 2022 I started clearing her rented cottage in which multiple streams of stuff had merged into one great river. Stuff from mum, my ancestors, my other uncle who died in 2005, my brother who had moved to America 20 years before, and the aforementioned uncle who had also just sadly died. All of this stuff became my responsibility, and I began drowning in it.

I recalled an old Sufi saying, wrote it down, and put it up on the kitchen wall: "You only have what you would not lose in a shipwreck." When stuck deciding about what to do with something I would ask myself: "if I was on a sinking ship would I bother with this?" It helped. I stopped feeling like the mad curator of some private museum that nobody would ever pay to visit, and began to make progress.

When Lalena and I moved to South Africa, with her patient and compassionate support I completed another phase of letting things go, and got a little closer to understanding what really matters in life: the things that you would not lose in a shipwreck. And the ease with which we shed stuff when we left to come back is, as they say, another story :)
